The East Hants Jr. Gentlemen's Hockey League was formed as a result of growing interest among those in the hockey community who had aged out of minor hockey or otherwise finished playing post-minor hockey (whether junior, major junior, university or professionally), but were not old enough to be admitted to the East Hants Gentlemen's League, which required players to be at least 30 years of age. 
 

The league has fluctuated between 4 - 8 teams throughout its existence and plays on Sunday evenings on Ice Pad B.
