Sackvegas takes leave of absence

When league officials returned to the office to blow the dust off the EHJGHL fax machine, it was learned then league mainstay Sackvegas would not be returning for the 2022-2023 season.

Sackvegas, a fixture in the EHJGHL since 2017, compiled an impressive 45-22-1-7 regular-season record and routinely had a number of league all stars on its roster. Sackvegas' regular-season success proved difficult to translate to the post-season, as Sackvegas failed to reach the Keith Miller Cup final in its five seasons, the most recent being a come-from-behind overtime loss against CKG Elevator in the third and deciding game of the league semi-finals last March. 

Sackvegas' departure is not without retaining one league record: most players receiving a lifetime ban (1). 

Team President Andrew Skinner could not be reached for comment before press time. 

The EHJGHL wishes Sackvegas well and hopes to see the black and orange jerseys at the Sportsplex in the future.
