This is part 2 to our playoff preview for the 2020 Keith Miller Cup playoffs.
AC DOORS (3) vs. DAVIES PLUMBING & HEATING
Season series (AC Doors 2-0)
Defending champion AC Doors has relied heavily upon its high-octane offence (133 goals for), which has sometimes come at a cost in the defensive zone (ranked fifth in goals against). Leading the charge offensively was EHJGHL leading scorer Neil Pashkoski (18G, 36A, 54 pts.), followed closely by linemates Andrew Oakley (24G, 20A, 44 pts.) - who led the league in goals and was second in points to Pashkoski, and Conor Fudge, who chipped in a respectable 34 points on 17 goals and 17 assists, good enough for fourth in league scoring. The trio nearly missed going 1-2-3 in league scoring but were thwarted in this effort by Brookfield's Pat Stewart. Ricky Jones continues to tend the twine for AC Doors, finishing with a 13-3 record and a 3.34 GAA.
Opposing Jones is Scott Marrison, who put up a 4-12 record, facing a heavy workload throughout the year. Offensively, Anthony Cardinal (12G, 12A, 24 pts), Alex Anthony (7G, 13A, 20 pts.) and Evan Locke (6G, 13A, 19 pts.) led the way. Davies will look to put its regular season results behind it and punch its first ticket to the league semi finals since joining the league several seasons ago.
CKG ELEVATOR (4) vs. SHOOTERS BAR AND GRILL (5)
In what looks to be the most intriguing battle of the first round, league mainstays CKG Elevator and Shooters Bar and Grill will square off in a matchup that pits two teams separated by just three points in the standings.
CKG Elevator had sole possession of first place for the majority of the season, but has tapered off somewhat since the calendar turned, ultimately losing its last two games and slipping to fourth. Led offensively by Connor Hilton (12G, 20A, 32 pts) and Bryan Gillis (14G, 9A, 23 pts.), CKG still has the core of the team that has participated in three straight Keith Miller Cup finals. Backstopping the group is Jacob Fancy, who put together a 9-3 record and 2.77 GAA.
